Equity Procurement Group LLC, doing business as Homevisory ("Homevisory," "we," "us," or "our"), is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our home maintenance management service, including our website at homevisory.com and our web application at app.homevisory.com (collectively, the "Service").
By accessing or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
- Account information — name, email address, and password (managed by our authentication provider)
- Phone number — if you opt in to SMS notifications
- Home profile data — home type, location (ZIP code), year built, square footage
- Home system information — appliance types, ages, fuel sources, and configuration details
- Maintenance history — task completion records, action choices, and feedback
- Communication preferences — your choice of SMS or email notifications
- Payment information — processed and stored by Stripe; we do not store credit card numbers
Information collected automatically
- Usage data — pages visited, features used, actions taken within the Service
- Device information — browser type, operating system, screen resolution
- Log data — IP address, access times, referring URLs
- SMS consent metadata — timestamp, IP address, user agent, and disclosure version at the time you opt in to text messages
- Cookies and similar technologies — see Section 5 below
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account
- Generate personalized maintenance schedules based on your home, location, and climate zone
- Send maintenance reminders and service notifications via your preferred channel (SMS or email)
- Process payments and manage your subscription
- Coordinate professional service requests on your behalf
- Provide customer support and respond to inquiries
- Analyze usage patterns to improve the Service
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not use your information for third-party advertising or sell your data to advertisers.
4. SMS / Text Message Communications
Homevisory offers optional SMS (text message) notifications as part of our home maintenance service. This section describes how we handle text messaging.
Consent and opt-in
We only send text messages to users who have explicitly opted in through a multi-step verification process. During account setup, you may choose SMS as your preferred communication method. If you choose SMS, you will:
- Select SMS as your communication preference on the communication preferences screen.
- Enter your phone number alongside a clear disclosure that states: "By entering your phone number, you agree to receive up to 2 maintenance reminder texts/week plus service updates from Homevisory. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out anytime."
- Verify your phone number by entering a six-digit one-time code sent via text.
- Confirm your consent by replying YES to a double opt-in prompt.
We record your consent along with the date, time, IP address, user agent, and the version of the disclosure you agreed to.
Types of messages
If you opt in, you may receive the following types of text messages:
- Maintenance reminders — notifications when a home maintenance task is coming due or overdue, with a link to view details and take action.
- Service updates — confirmations related to scheduled professional services, quote approvals, and appointment status changes.
- Account notifications — onboarding confirmations, welcome messages, and important account alerts.
Message frequency
Message frequency varies based on your home's maintenance schedule. You will receive no more than 2 maintenance reminder messages per week. Additional service-related messages (such as appointment confirmations) may be sent as needed.
Costs
Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. Homevisory does not charge any additional fees for SMS notifications.
Opt-out
You can stop receiving text messages at any time by:
- Replying STOP to any message from Homevisory.
- Switching to email-only notifications in your account settings at app.homevisory.com/settings.
After you opt out, we will send a single confirmation message to confirm your request. You will not receive any further text messages unless you opt back in.

Phone number privacy
Your phone number is used solely to deliver the notifications described above. We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number with third parties for marketing purposes. Text messages are delivered through our SMS provider, Twilio, which processes your phone number only to deliver messages on our behalf under a data processing agreement. Your phone number is stored securely in our database and is deleted or anonymized upon account deletion.
5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to:
- Essential cookies — maintain your authenticated session and remember your preferences. These are necessary for the Service to function.
- Analytics cookies — understand how visitors interact with our website so we can improve it. We use privacy-respecting analytics.
We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies. You can control cookie settings through your browser preferences. Disabling essential cookies may prevent the Service from functioning properly.

6. Data Sharing and Subprocessors
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with trusted service providers who help us operate the Service, and only to the extent necessary for them to perform their functions. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.

7. International Data Transfers
Your information is primarily stored and processed in the United States. Some of our subprocessors may process data in other locations. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place through contractual obligations with our subprocessors.
8. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including:
- Encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS) for all data transmission
- Encryption at rest for stored data
- Hashed and salted passwords (managed by our authentication provider)
- Hashed verification codes for phone verification
- Role-based access controls
- Regular security reviews
However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
9. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Specifically:
- Account data — retained while your account is active
- Maintenance history — retained while your account is active to show task history and generate recurring schedules
- Payment records — retained as required by tax and financial regulations
- SMS consent records — retained for compliance purposes as required by applicable telemarketing laws
Upon account deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or necessary for our legitimate business interests (such as fraud prevention or legal compliance).
10. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Correction — request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete personal information
- Deletion — request that we delete your personal information
- Data portability — request a machine-readable copy of your data
- Opt-out of marketing — unsubscribe from promotional communications
- Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time

11. California and State Privacy Rights
California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):
- Right to know — what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell
- Right to delete — request deletion of your personal information
- Right to correct — request correction of inaccurate personal information
- Right to opt out of sale/sharing — we do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information — we only use sensitive personal information for purposes permitted by the CCPA
- Right to non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights

In the preceding 12 months, we have collected the categories of personal information described in Section 2. We have not sold personal information to third parties. We have disclosed personal information to the service providers listed in Section 6 for business purposes.
Other state privacy laws
Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws may have similar rights. Contact us at support@homevisory.com to exercise your rights under applicable state law.
12. Data Breach Notification
In the event of a data breach that compromises your personal information, we will:
- Notify affected users without undue delay and as required by applicable law
- Notify applicable regulatory authorities as required by law
- Provide information about the nature of the breach, the data involved, and steps you can take to protect yourself
- Take immediate steps to contain and remediate the breach
13. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:
