4. SMS / Text Message Communications

Homevisory offers optional SMS (text message) notifications as part of our home maintenance service. This section describes how we handle text messaging.

We only send text messages to users who have explicitly opted in through a multi-step verification process. During account setup, you may choose SMS as your preferred communication method. If you choose SMS, you will:

  1. Select SMS as your communication preference on the communication preferences screen.
  2. Enter your phone number alongside a clear disclosure that states: "By entering your phone number, you agree to receive up to 2 maintenance reminder texts/week plus service updates from Homevisory. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out anytime."
  3. Verify your phone number by entering a six-digit one-time code sent via text.
  4. Confirm your consent by replying YES to a double opt-in prompt.

We record your consent along with the date, time, IP address, user agent, and the version of the disclosure you agreed to.

If you opt in, you may receive the following types of text messages:

Message frequency

Message frequency varies based on your home's maintenance schedule. You will receive no more than 2 maintenance reminder messages per week. Additional service-related messages (such as appointment confirmations) may be sent as needed.

Costs

Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. Homevisory does not charge any additional fees for SMS notifications.

Phone number privacy

Your phone number is used solely to deliver the notifications described above. We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number with third parties for marketing purposes. Text messages are delivered through our SMS provider, Twilio, which processes your phone number only to deliver messages on our behalf under a data processing agreement. Your phone number is stored securely in our database and is deleted or anonymized upon account deletion.
